I added a MyDevelopment folder (just to keep naming conventions a bit, also have a Installs folder there. To their contents as you hover over them (click if you want). For some reason Win7 has certain special User libraries that can be pinned to the start menu (right side) and expand. I have found a way around this - well, kind of.
